Why engineering at NU?

01

SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING

The School of Engineering brings together engineering, manufacturing technologies, energy and natural resources in one academic and research environment. Study electrical engineering, mechanics, aerospace technologies, construction, environmental and chemical engineering, materials science, robotics, mining and petroleum engineering.

02

FROM THEORY TO REAL PROJECTS

You can’t learn engineering from textbooks alone.
Students work in laboratories, run experiments, use engineering software, build prototypes, and complete team and individual projects.
Studies culminate in major projects where you go from defining an engineering problem to developing and testing a solution.

03

RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY

The campus hosts the Institute of New Materials and Energy Technologies, a research institute focused on energy technologies, advanced materials and sustainable innovation.
Students can work at the intersection of engineering, energy, new materials, digital technologies and industry.

04

FROM BACHELOR’S TO PhD

Start with a fundamental engineering education and continue at the master’s and doctoral levels.
The School of Engineering offers a pathway from undergraduate study to independent engineering and scientific research.

DESIGN.
BUILD.
CHANGE.
Engineering begins with a question: “How can we make this better?”

You will learn to turn scientific principles into working solutions, from buildings and energy systems to electronics, new materials and aerospace technologies.

At Nazarbayev University, engineering education is built around practical problems, project work and research. NU names project-based learning as one of the School of Engineering’s key principles.
